WASHINGTON — Nearly two dozen Republican House members are urging the White House to reconsider its decision to cut by half the number of American troops assigned to Germany, according to a new letter.
“We believe that such steps would significantly damage U.S. national security as well as strengthen the position of Russia to our detriment,” they said in a letter sent to the White House on Tuesday. “We urge you to reject such proposals,” the letter concluded.
