France stocks higher at close of trade; CAC 40 up 1.01%

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 1.01%, while the SBF 120 index added 1.03%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were STMicroelectronics NV (PA:STM), which rose 5.14% or 1.24 points to trade at 25.36 at the close. Meanwhile, Renault SA (PA:RENA) added 3.77% or 0.81 points to end at 22.41 and Airbus Group SE (PA:AIR) was up 3.53% or 2.23 points to 65.45 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Dassault Systemes SE (PA:DAST), which fell 0.70% or 1.10 points to trade at 156.30 at the close. Publicis Groupe SA (PA:PUBP) declined 0.33% or 0.09 points to end at 26.81 and Sanofi SA (PA:SASY) was down 0.29% or 0.26 points to 88.92.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were SES (PA:SESFd) which rose 8.02% to 6.30, STMicroelectronics NV (PA:STM) which was up 5.14% to settle at 25.36 and Sodexo SA (PA:EXHO) which gained 4.94% to close at 62.48.

The worst performers were Eramet SA (PA:ERMT) which was down 3.66% to 30.55 in late trade, Eurofins Scientific SE (PA:EUFI) which lost 2.40% to settle at 536.00 and Korian Medica SA (PA:KORI) which was down 1.80% to 31.60 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 308 to 252 and 93 ended unchanged.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 3.04% to 27.63.

Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.33% or 5.95 to $1797.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.41% or 0.56 to hit $40.18 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 1.28% or 0.54 to trade at $42.89 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.17% to 1.1300, while EUR/GBP fell 0.02% to 0.8949.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.06% at 96.618.
