At the close in Paris, the rose 0.65% to hit a new 5-year high, while the index climbed 0.65%.

The best performers of the session on the were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:), which rose 2.52% or 0.372 points to trade at 15.156 at the close. Meanwhile, Compagnie de Saint Gobain SA (PA:) added 2.15% or 0.79 points to end at 37.48 and Sanofi SA (PA:) was up 1.71% or 1.40 points to 83.08 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Sodexo SA (PA:), which fell 1.21% or 1.30 points to trade at 106.10 at the close. Bouygues SA (PA:) declined 0.51% or 0.20 points to end at 38.70 and Engie SA (PA:) was down 0.28% or 0.04 points to 14.37.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were SES (PA:) which rose 4.28% to 14.74, Maisons du Monde SAS (PA:) which was up 2.91% to settle at 13.090 and Biomerieux SA (PA:) which gained 2.88% to close at 76.80.

The worst performers were Vallourec (PA:) which was down 7.30% to 2.411 in late trade, Rothschild & Co SCA (PA:) which lost 2.48% to settle at 25.600 and GTT (PA:) which was down 2.30% to 82.70 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 322 to 242 and 109 ended unchanged.

The , which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 1.36% to 12.15.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.34% or 5.05 to $1468.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 1.73% or 0.98 to hit $57.75 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 1.86% or 1.16 to trade at $63.44 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.30% to 1.1054, while EUR/GBP rose 0.10% to 0.8563.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.16% at 97.860.
