Meanwhile, The Travelers Companies Inc (NYSE:) added 13.29% or 11.31 points to end at 96.41 and Intel Corporation (NASDAQ:) was up 12.26% or 5.47 points to 50.08 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Boeing Co (NYSE:), which fell 4.22% or 5.47 points to trade at 124.14 at the close. Walt Disney Company (NYSE:) declined 1.56% or 1.48 points to end at 93.53 and McDonald’s Corporation (NYSE:) was down 0.93% or 1.39 points to 147.62.
The top performers on the S&P 500 were Dow Inc (NYSE:) which rose 20.91% to 26.60, LyondellBasell Industries NV (NYSE:) which was up 19.54% to settle at 41.72 and Southern Company (NYSE:) which gained 18.77% to close at 56.56.
The worst performers were Noble Energy Inc (NASDAQ:) which was down 19.89% to 4.19 in late trade, Apache Corporation (NYSE:) which lost 18.32% to settle at 4.46 and Capri Holdings Ltd (NYSE:) which was down 15.63% to 8.15 at the close.
The top performers on the NASDAQ Composite were Sundance Energy Australia Ltd ADR (NASDAQ:) which rose 265.00% to 3.65, GTY Technology Holdings Inc A (NASDAQ:) which was up 177.01% to settle at 10.00 and Global Eagle Entertainment Inc (NASDAQ:) which gained 143.48% to close at 0.1792.
The worst performers were DBV Technologies (NASDAQ:) which was down 55.70% to 2.33 in late trade, Ruth’s Hospitality Group Inc (NASDAQ:) which lost 34.86% to settle at 5.42 and Centennial Resource Development Inc (NASDAQ:) which was down 33.28% to 0.34 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the New York Stock Exchange by 1823 to 1104 and 28 ended unchanged; on the Nasdaq Stock Exchange, 1840 rose and 875 declined, while 35 ended unchanged.

Shares in McDonald’s Corporation (NYSE:) fell to 52-week lows; down 0.93% or 1.39 to 147.62. Shares in DBV Technologies (NASDAQ:) fell to all time lows; down 55.70% or 2.93 to 2.33. Shares in GTY Technology Holdings Inc A (NASDAQ:) rose to 52-week highs; up 177.01% or 6.39 to 10.00. Shares in Ruth’s Hospitality Group Inc (NASDAQ:) fell to 5-year lows; losing 34.86% or 2.90 to 5.42. Shares in Centennial Resource Development Inc (NASDAQ:) fell to all time lows; down 33.28% or 0.17 to 0.34.

EUR/USD was up 0.07% to 1.1004, while USD/JPY rose 0.01% to 107.69.
