Stryker Earnings Beat, Revenue Misses In Q1

Stryker announced earnings per share of $1.84 on revenue of $3.59B. Analysts polled by Investing.com anticipated EPS of $1.83 on revenue of $3.6B. That with comparison to EPS of $1.88 on revenue of $3.52B in the same period a year before. Stryker had reported EPS of $2.49 on revenue of $4.13B in the previous quarter. Analysts are expecting EPS of $1.17 and revenue of $3.16B in the upcoming quarter.

Stryker shares are down 11% from the beginning of the year , still down 17.62% from its 52 week high of $226.30 set on February 19. They are under-performing the S&P 500 which is down 10.34% year to date.

Stryker’s report follows an earnings beat by J&J on April 14, who reported EPS of $2.3 on revenue of $20.69B, compared to forecasts EPS of $2.02 on revenue of $19.73B.

Pfizer had beat expectations on Tuesday with first quarter EPS of $0.8 on revenue of $12.03B, compared to forecast for EPS of $0.7 on revenue of $11.34B.
