Germany stocks mixed at close of trade; DAX up 0.96%

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 0.96% to hit a new 3-months high, while the MDAX index added 0.43%, and the TecDAX index fell 0.50%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG), which rose 16.36% or 0.254 points to trade at 1.804 at the close. Meanwhile, Continental AG O.N. (DE:CONG) added 2.95% or 2.61 points to end at 91.01 and Fresenius SE & Co KGAA O.N. (DE:FREG) was up 2.75% or 1.220 points to 45.525 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:DBKGn), which fell 4.27% or 0.379 points to trade at 8.497 at the close. Merck KGaA (DE:MRCG) declined 0.15% or 0.17 points to end at 115.78 and Bayer AG NA (DE:BAYGN) was down 0.13% or 0.08 points to 62.26.

The top performers on the MDAX were Rational AG (DE:RAAG) which rose 4.38% to 536.00, K+S AG NA O.N. (DE:SDFGn) which was up 4.22% to settle at 6.374 and Airbus Group SE (DE:AIRG) which gained 3.73% to close at 68.13.

The worst performers were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:SATG_p) which was down 5.24% to 325.800 in late trade, Bechtle AG (DE:BC8G) which lost 3.06% to settle at 164.600 and Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) which was down 2.69% to 89.660 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG) which rose 16.36% to 1.804, New Work SE (DE:NWOn) which was up 6.01% to settle at 291.00 and Pfeiffer Vacuum Technology O.N. (DE:PV) which gained 4.56% to close at 178.70.

The worst performers were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:SATG_p) which was down 5.24% to 325.800 in late trade, Draegerwerk VZO O.N. (DE:DRWG_p) which lost 3.82% to settle at 83.000 and Bechtle AG (DE:BC8G) which was down 3.06% to 164.600 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 458 to 207 and 73 ended unchanged.

Shares in Pfeiffer Vacuum Technology O.N. (DE:PV) rose to all time highs; gaining 4.56% or 7.80 to 178.70.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 2.50% to 25.00 a new 3-months low.

Gold Futures for August delivery was up 1.50% or 27.25 to $1844.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 2.15% or 0.88 to hit $41.80 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 2.13% or 0.92 to trade at $44.20 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.78% to 1.1534, while EUR/GBP rose 0.06% to 0.9042.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.78% at 95.025.
