At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX lost 1.08% to hit a new 6-months low, while the MDAX index declined 0.94%, and the TecDAX index fell 0.27%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn), which rose 2.12% or 0.61 points to trade at 29.38 at the close. Meanwhile, Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG) added 1.61% or 4.30 points to end at 271.00 and BASF SE NA O.N. (ETR:BASFN) was up 1.48% or 0.60 points to 41.19 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n), which fell 35.49% or 3.78 points to trade at 6.87 at the close. Mercedes Benz Group AG (ETR:MBGn) declined 5.77% or 3.54 points to end at 57.84 and Siemens AG Class N (ETR:SIEGn) was down 4.54% or 5.76 points to 121.20.
The top performers on the MDAX were Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which rose 4.92% to 10.56, Befesa SA (ETR:BFSA) which was up 4.74% to settle at 26.98 and Wacker Chemie O.N. (ETR:WCHG) which gained 3.27% to close at 113.60.
The worst performers were Kion Group AG (ETR:KGX) which was down 11.30% to 28.90 in late trade, HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) which lost 10.27% to settle at 21.84 and Gerresheimer AG (ETR:GXIG) which was down 8.44% to 87.30 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which rose 4.92% to 10.56, Morphosys AG O.N. (ETR:MORG) which was up 4.40% to settle at 28.72 and Siltronic AG (ETR:WAFGn) which gained 4.36% to close at 81.40.
The worst performers were Siemens Healthineers AG (ETR:SHLG) which was down 3.60% to 46.11 in late trade, Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) which lost 1.80% to settle at 74.02 and Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (ETR:O2Dn) which was down 1.68% to 1.55 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 389 to 253 and 87 ended unchanged.
Shares in Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n) fell to all time lows; losing 35.49% or 3.78 to 6.87. Shares in Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) fell to 3-years lows; losing 1.80% or 1.36 to 74.02. Shares in Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (ETR:O2Dn) fell to all time lows; down 1.68% or 0.03 to 1.55.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 4.83% to 20.17.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.08% or 1.55 to $1,993.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 1.70% or 1.45 to hit $83.94 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.64% or 1.48 to trade at $88.65 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.33% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.28% to 0.87.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.32% at 106.69.
